Division C • Grades 9–12
Our varsity Science Olympiad team — where CV's most dedicated STEM students train, build, and compete at the highest level.
The Cumberland Valley High School Science Olympiad team competes in Division C (grades 9–12) against the top programs in central Pennsylvania. Our members specialize across the full slate of 23 events — from Anatomy & Physiology and Chemistry Lab to Flight, Towers, and Electric Vehicle.
Students typically pair into event partnerships, mentored by upperclassmen and coaches, and train through the fall and winter toward the Regional and State tournaments in the spring. Beyond medals, the team is a tight-knit community where students build lasting friendships and discover future college majors and careers.
The high school team also mentors our two middle school teams and helps run the annual Eagle Invitational.
Practices run Tuesday through Friday, from after school until 5:00 PM. During practice, members take practice tests, construct and test their builds, and prepare for their lab and study events.
Members take practice tests to sharpen their knowledge and get ready for competition-day conditions.
Build teams construct and test their devices, refining designs through trial and iteration.
Members practice hands-on lab skills, study their events, and work closely with their event partners.
The 2027 Division C slate spans five categories:
